Garden pics Posted by JimHardy on October 1, 2025, 8:11 am We have had highs of 88F the last 3 days,supposed to continue for who knows how long....took these pics a few days ago. Castor beans approaching 17' my biggest got to 18' Got about 5 nice Watermelons,going to try one today! Ensete Maurelli is the biggest its grown yet,13" of rain in July got the Castor and this guy blowing up. The rain has since vanished after July I think the biggest leaf is 10' Thai giant is beat to crap but is taller than me

I've been under the weather so I missed this, thanks for sharing. sick, appts, etc. and it's been stifling here too. The fills-like has been 10* higher than actual but now low 70s and rain. I don't know where to start. Your cactus and Pachycaul are the best. What a collection and so healthy. Your watermelons are making me smack my lips. Ive been eating them all summer. We had out Giant Pumpkin & Watermelon weigh-off this past Saturday. This 318.8 lb watermelon took Grand Prize. Might as well show the 2025 Giant Pumpkin Winner. It weighed 1196.6 lbs I've always heard they feed them all summer with sugar water and former winning seed. Jim your Ensete Maurelli Banana from Ethiopia is the largest I've ever seen, wow. Protect it please. I sure miss growing those Castor Beans, (mo beans down here) Nice to see them. Jim do you have to dig up those Thai giants ? Beautiful. Trying to hide that Crassula ovata Jade tree ? .. and that Butia ? Those two specimens are what's known as spectaculars among plant growers . Jim thanks for sharing these photos. Hope you get some rain soon. I had no rain from May through July. Not a lot since but things are green and blooming again. I will post some things Wednesday. Have to go back to Nashville Rx tomorrow. Thanks.

I wonder how those massive fruits would taste.. Kinda hoping no more rain because the Ensete will weigh a ton...Crassula ovata Gollum really grew this year! And the Pachy is finally blooming flowers that smell like vanilla,fitting for Madagascar where vanilla grows...
