Your boys are getting taller.i Do those smaller prickly pear fruit have glochids? I know the larger fruits do. Is the jelly seedy, or were the seeds filtered out of the juice? What is the flavor of prickly pear jelly like?

The juice gets strained. They have loads of seeds. First taste was like a watermelon jolly rancher. I have not had it on toast or anything yet. I burnt the fine hairs off with a torch. I think the fruit needed just a little longer on the plant to be darker red.

Hard to fathom how plants I have to wear gloves, to weed around, need protection, like a short wire cage, around them, to keep these animals from eating them. Not sure if I would be able to harvest ripe prickly pears, if not caged.
