It has gotten tall, but no flower buds have formed on it. Here it is in the forefront of the pic, below. I am an inch shy of 6 ft tall. This is the second year straight, that it hasn't suffered any winter damage. Not even tip-kill. A company in Ohio z6 called Ohio palms has some 7-15 gal size with single trunks pruned up and they look pretty good

It was in a quart-sized pot, when I got it from the Green Escape Nursery, a now defunct nursery, out of Florida. Today, it's about 5 ft tall, and wide. Unlike many other Needles, it has pupped relatively little, and rather has developed a small trunk, instead. The palm does get protection, though. I think this may be why it is more or less becoming a single-trunker, "without help". I think it may be trunking, because anything outside of its protection, in winter, would probably be damaged, or killed.

All the ones I have are multi trunked, maybe 10. My bigggest are 8x8 ft, and were planted in 99 from 5 gal size. I have a grove of them 6-7 ft that were planted the same year from cup sized Plant delight . I pruned 1 8x8 ft yesterday ,I was trying to find the center trunk but it didn't happen.All the trunks are well under a ft.Maybe 6 in at the most.
