Are These Windmill Palm Seeds? Posted by Jake- Morristown, TN on August 28, 2025, 11:18 am Hey everyone! Rob sent me a variety of palm seeds that he had. I was looking at them closer today. Are these windmill palm seeds? They were marked as Trachycarpus from Chattanooga. I don’t think they are, but they don’t exactly look like the Tennessee Sabal minor seeds he sent me as well. Trachy seeds usually are a little pear shaped or have an indented belly button and I could have made a mistake. They look a little small for Sabal Minor seed as they are usually larger than Trachycarpus. trachycarpus seed Sabal Minor Seed If I miss labeled, Im sorry Jake. Home state seed is normally best but I wont be going back to Chattanooga for some time. They are hardy there and of the many places I've seen them growing there, they are north of the city's urban heat island. If you find your self traveling through through Chattanooga one day, get a hold of Kevin or myself and we can direct you there. If no seeds are on the trees, there will be many seedlings growing like weeds. At this point in time, I hope you just planted them in a community pot. Best regards.

I still appreciate you being generous and sending me seeds. I’m not down in Chattanooga often, but will try to remember if I head that way. I did go ahead and plant them and we will see what grows.
