Bleeding hard is a very beautiful flower.. a billions are nice. They bloom here right after the azaleas.. I love Miss Kim lilac. I used it a lot in landscaping jobs when I was in Kentucky. The tartan honeysuckle I sure smells great., that red twig variegated dogwood would look very good in my shade garden.

Back then, I grew two everbearing varieties of raspberry (September Red and Fall Gold), that produced a small crop, in June, and a larger September crop. I used to harvest them by the pint. My mother used to make cobblers, and jelly, with them, as well as a few on the corn flakes. Over here, and today, I get harvests by the handful, and usually eat them on the spot, out of hand. Great snacks, for a few weeks, while working in the garden. The blackcap raspberries were here, when I bought the house. They escaped from my naxt door neighbors yard. They root easily from cane tips that touch the ground, producing new plants every year. I often have to dig up a few canes, every year, in order to find a spot to plant something new. That's interesting, about the robins eating the strawberries. Since I always see robins looking for, and eating earthworms, I always thought they were solely carnivorous/meat-eating birds, unlike cardinals and finches, which are basically herbivores/seed eaters.

However, like Fudingzhu tea olive, it would likely not bloom year'round, like they do in a container. There would likely be cold weather breaks, like there are with Camellia season, there. There are a number of Abelias that grow in the South. This species of Abelia may be the only one that will grow normally, in z5 and z6. Believe it or not, this shrub type of honeysuckle doesn't have the fragrance, that some of the vining types do. Correctomundo, as to 'Miss Kim' being a lilac. I have another dwarf variety of lilac, that is getting ready to bloom, too. Yep, variegated red twig does great in dappled shade.
