The rest Posted by Keith N. IL on March 21, 2025, 5:14 pm The Chamaerops humilis 'Vulcano' did well. Some burnt foliage and all the pups were damaged. I trimmed it up and I like the single trunk better anyway. The Sabal rosei made it through the winter with some burn. The new spear looks good.

Would be great if they, Sagos, and Needle Palms, grew naturally, with a single stem/trunk. You would be kept busy keeping, all of the above, free from pups. The Sabal rosei is impressive, as they are less hardy than Sabal minors.

The box was too small and the leaves were touching the outside of the box and got fried. The sharp needle-like spines on the Vulcano are painful so I couldn't tie up as much as I wanted. Hopefully the Sabal rosei will get enough heat to recover before the end of the season. I have read that it may be more cold hardy than reported.
