I am seeing some variations in forecasts but these fronts will be strong and according to a favorite southern states and Caribbean forecaster, (moonlighting) from his TV station in Orlando, Mr Weatherman, reports snow showers may very well affect south Florida and the northern Bahamas He is an amazing weather caster and #1 in the country for tropical storms and is recommended highly. https://www.youtube.com/@MrWeatherman/videos I'm still going with single digit lows and 20*s for high temps in this span. Ice storms may happen from Northern OK, across Southern MO, Norther Arkansas, South Central Ky and into Virginia and North Carolina and chances of snow fall in every state in the south to some degree. I remember about 10 years ago it snowed in every state capitol in the southern states, yes even Tallahassee got a little. It's one of those years I guess. Not hearing much after this January event but hoping for normal weather. Fred if you see this, it popped up on my chromebook and is a palm from Simpsonville, wow. no date or info was provided. We got about 4 inches of snow. I went out in the middle of night and brushed off my greenhouse and knocked it off my palms with a bamboo pole. Thst eas the only snow to amount to much since living here. Simpsonville is south of I-85 and rarely gets any snow. North of ZI -85 and up in the Blue Ridge gets snow every few years. ‘Feliz navidad y un ano prospero con mucho felizidad’.

I was a wee lad and loved seeing the snow but the cold was unbearable , I think 28* or so.

I know its exciting. I know about Wilder, a deserted ghost town of perhaps several thousand people back in the early 1900s due to the coal mines but you would likely not even find a standing building there today. It runs along a high ridge on the plateau that was always a precarious drive. Numerous switch backs are located at each end of Wilder. If only cemeteries could talk, Its often known as a bad omen and haunted to the mountain people. Mostly Scotch-Irish, Native American and some latin live close there. Its a whole different world there in winter climatology. It snows a lot there and very cold in winter that can last 7 months of the year. Snow is possible from October to April and being rural, not much concern is given. A state highway, TN 85 runs right through it and the same highway connects to Livingston at a distance of 25 miles but takes about an hour to drive it.
