Meteorological winter shuts down Musa basjoo banana Posted by Rob N TN on December 1, 2024, 11:21 am Looking out today I can see my remaining banana trees are drooping. It was a long season for bananas in North Tennessee. over a week ago I cleared off dozens of trees to get it out of the way. Kevin in Southeastern Tennessee experienced snow on his bananas before but they don't get much snow to speak of down that way. It was a decent growing season in 2024 and a promise of an early spring in Dixie.

Basjoo is about fried as well. It is that time of year or somewhat past the time. …now looking forward to Winter ending and arrival of Spring.

They usually get bit after Halloween and when I grew Washingtonia in the ground, I always had to protect the week of Thanksgiving. .Winter is here and might as well make the most of it. Luckily the days will start getting longer soon. I love Alocascia but have never been able to cut them back and mulch because they would always rot by spring, I have a neighbor that can. They do well potted up in winter and placed near a window. thanks friend.
