Scattered Frost! Posted by Fred SC on October 15, 2024, 7:44 am Believe it or not, it was 39° according to my thermometers. We had scattered frost on the houses that’s are a little bit lower elevation than mine. They all had frost on the roof on one side of the street for sure My roof or the neighbors on this street had none. This frost is about two or more weeks early!!!

Im sure you'll be back in the warmth soon enough. Was that a back door front? It's raining here and temps will fall into the upper 30s here by morning and mid 30*a tomorrow night but it was 81* here yesterday or Saturday and the ground is very warm so I don't think it will frost here yet.If it does, blooms will shutdown. Milder temps return Friday. Thanks for sharing.

Meant to say Kentucky under frost advisors tonight and deep valleys lose out in my area as they might frost. (watching my palm growing weather man now, Dan Thomas NBC-Nashville. Higher in elevation is safer this go around.

What's odd, Fred, is that I never see visible frost, at 39, here Even between 32, and 35, I may only see heavy dew on roof tops. Below 32, or temps for hours, hovering the freezing point, especially, with snow, may cause some damage, and visible frost, though. That has happened before, but not during a first frost of the seaon, though. In years past, too, I remember points further south than me, having first frosts before me.
