In My Garden Today

AHHH, CAMELLIA SEASON IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY, IN MICHIGAN! This is the first open Camellia flower, in my garden, since April. Like seemingly everything else, this season, this flower is a week and a half, to two weeks early, due an early spring, PA Punxy Phil got right, but Michigan Woody, got wrong. Go figure, LOL. This cultivar of Camellia sasanqua hybrid, is 'October Magic Rose', due to its deep, rose pink color. The plant is loaded with flower buds. I'll post when more open...
The TREE TOMATO/TAMARILLO, Cyphomandra betacea, is setting fruit, again. Last year's fruit set, finished ripening, indoors, in winter. That was my first time trying the fruits. They are quite tasty, with a flavor much like a sweet tomato...

Happy Fall Camellia Season! It's fun to see the first blooms of any flower season. How much protection do you give the Bulgarian Trachy? It's also fun to try unusual fruits like that Tamarillo. Those berries in that second photo are some kind of holly berry. I don't know the exact species.
Thanks, David. The Bulgarian is tied, and wrapped with mini Christmas lights, and covered with a wrapped styrofoam box. Yep, the berries are on my female Blue "Princess" holly. My Blue "Prince", about 20 ft away, is her consort.
