A few South American hardy cacti Posted by Fred SC on September 15, 2024, 1:33 pm Not blooming at this time. They bloomed off and on over summer. In first picture the taller one in middle is Trichocereus huasca Smaller ones are Echinopsis multiplex, grandiflora and others. They are nice, even without flowers. I didn't know Argentine saguaro produced offsets. This makes it different from the Giant Saguaro, in it being a single column, for as much as 50 yrs, before producing its first arm.

It growth rate is faster than my other Trichocereus, I assume it is just that. If it is terschekii, it will get up to 20 feet and grow very very fast.
