Plant sale Posted by Jason Western PA on August 18, 2024, 7:40 am My first plant sale! We decided to set up at community days at the park. Nice part is it 3 miles away. I sold half my plant that I took. haha I couldn't believe it. Jen sold some eggs from the girls, tomatoes, collards and zucchini. I can tell you; PEOPLE know about me and my banana trees at the post office. WOW. People would walk up and look at the bananas. I would say have you seen the one at the post office.....OOOOOOH your the guy. lol You take care of all that? Yes, I do. We had a really nice Ukranian lady set up beside us who had some nice clothing but what I got was her homemade food. Oh man, coffee cake while I type this with coffee. mmmm We also got some homemade cup cakes. I'll keep an eye open for her again. She also got a banana and eggs. It was a long day but people loved my plants.

Hope those new banana parents will protect them, this upcoming winter, if they go in the ground now. The coffee cake sounds good. Didn't know you grew, and liked collard greens, lol. Was the Ukranian lady a refugee? If so, a welcome to America, to her. Looks like she has adjusted well. Brown eggs, or mixed, lol?

Did the boys help with the sale? Fresh eggs sold well for sure. I should set up a booth and sell a few Agave, lol. Last year I sold old a lot of Agave on Facebook marketplace or something, my daughter did it for me. , but this year I only sold 2! Yes, 2! lol. I had my daughter take them off sale line. There were pictures and all were nice specimens in quarts or more priced st 5 dollars, no takers, sucks, lol. Did you have to pay for the spot to set up? I mowed the yard this week. First time mowing since open heart. As you may remember yard is small. Takes about 20 minutes. I mowed at 8 pm when temp had dropped to 82 but still I was out of breath, etc . afterwards with lots of chest pressure. My daughter’s fiancé normally mowed but he had a trrrible wreck on I -85, broke his wrist , split head open front to back . Luckily he did not die, everyone said. Totaled his Tacoma . People in jeep were not hurt, if I mow this week I will mow half each day, lol. I am much better now, I go to gym three times a week, so heart is getting better. Dorothy’s heart is not doing as well, but she will be ok and back to normal soon, I pray.

You take it easy. The heat has calmed down here. 70's and 80's now. What a hot summer. Dorothy needs to take it easy also. If you get any windmill seeds you don't want this fall. I'll buy some off of you.

I'm noticing more banana plants (I assume they are the hardy variety, but maybe not) in places like Bridgeville Delaware when heading toward Bethany Beach. There are some planted in a townhouse complex near me. I believe people from Central America may be planting them.

That was nice of you to sell some things for awareness and for keeping the post office the nicest in the townships. The UT has a plant sale annually at their experimental gardens center nearby in Crossville but I have never been but once belonged to a Middle Tennessee Plant Swap group. Met a great friend there. Years ago I gave out a whole crate of baby musa basjoo seedlings in 4" cups. I often wondered how well they grew for those who wanted one. That banana is commonly seen here in parking lots, hospitals, etc. So much so, I only 2 people ask for some this year. I have 7 huge colonies of them and every years threaten to take 5 colonies out since they are close to the house. I know you provided some nice plants, they all looked great.
