Alvin, the Rose is a Beauty! Thst little Yucca will become a giant in time. My mamas grew lots of blackberry Lillie’s. The Diana rose of Sharon is a nice one. I have a small one that had a few blooms this Spring. The yellow of the shrimp plant is beautiful. Will you have blackberries for jss as m or cobbler?
Thanks, Fred. Believe it or not, the blackberry lily got its name from the seeds it produces, after blooming, that resemble blackberries. I usually pick a handful of blackberries, every few days, and eat them from hand, right off the plant, as I did with the blackcap raspberries,, and loganberries, earlier in the season. The season lasts about 2-3 weeks. I only have a few plants, of each, due to everything else I'm growing. I had enough currants and gooseberries to make a few jars of jelly, but have been juicing them, in recent years.
