Fred said he grew it in Greer, and I assume that to be a z8 location. Hardiness ratings have been proven to be incorrect, both as exaggerations (for example, as in the case of z6 hardy Gardenias), and not hardy enough (for example, z7 hardy longleaf pines). In addition, you're a zone-pusher, right?

If you hate protecting, then you limit yourself, as to how many subtropicals and tropicals you "cn" grow. The only limit to how far you can achieve, is whatever limit you place on yourself.
