I am currently soaking some seeds of the Pink Bird of Paradise or Caesalpinia pulcherrima rosea, a subtropical or tropical plant. Since they are also in the pod-bearing pea family (Fabacaeae), like Mimosa, their seeds are hard-shelled, and need a sandpaper rub, before soaking. The seeds have been soaking for 3 days already, with daily water changes, and are just beginning to show signs of sending out a tiny root. I will pot them up, individually, as they germinate.
