The "heatwave" that began nearly a week ago, is continuing. There was an old Motown hit record, from the 1960s, that was given "Heatwave", as its title.

Here's a pic of my Hardy Tapioca Plant or Manihot grahamii. For anyone not familiar with this plant, it is plant that returns as a die-back perennial, in some subtropical areas:

Here is a young FIG TREE. These are plants that are native to the Mediterranean region. They are considered deciduous subtropicals. Some are hardy enough to return, with mulch, in temperate zones. This is an example. It is a variety of fig, dubbed 'Chicago Hardy', and was named after a cold, Midwestern city:
