The Pennsylvania State Flower is blooming in the Great Lake State. The cultivar of this red-flowered variety, is 'Keepsake', and it is already putting on new foliage, for next year's flowers:

Here is a dwarf NANDINA/HEAVENLY BAMBOO plant, I got from Forestfarm, about 20 years ago, that is still kicking, in z6. It is basically deciduous, but puts out new foliage every year. Flowered just once, but no seedlings resulted:
