I have only had the grapefruit tree, since last year. However, since it is a grafted variety, and not grown from seed, it usually begins fruiting in just a year or two, as opposed to a decade or more, that a seed grown tree would take to begin fruiting. This is the first time flowering, since I have had it. Just since I made this post, some flower petals have fallen off, and I can see signs of fruit, just beginning to form. So, if all goes well, I should get a few grapefruit, this upcoming winter. Tropical fruits can take months, and up to a year, to develop and ripen.
The pomegranate tree, although planted several years ago, may be still too young to flower and fruit. It was purchased as a tube sized plant, from Forestfarm. I doubt if was grafted, or air layered, which h would result in earlier fruiting.
So, if seed grown, as I think it is, several years more could be necessary for it to flower and fruit.
