I remember visiting my Aunt here in 1985 'after' the -25* event and her large Southern Magnolia blew up/burst like dynamite. In a few short years it came back from the roots. That is a very hardy species of tree. I'm sure your fine Jason.
Tennessee is very mild now but I've only reached 64* (currently) but might hit 70* tomorrow. It will be mild here until the last 2 weeks of February then we chill again and maybe a little snow here (where I live) I think if we can make it into March we will be fine. I did take a small garbage bucket off my T. fortunei 'Nainital' x Trachycarpus wagnerianus and it didn't have a blotch on it. no heat, nothing. This has made my day because I was under 32* and several inches of ice and some snow for sometime.
I had 4 lows below 32* in February (for now) and
I had 18 lows below 32* in January.
My low temp here at my house was 7* and there was a 9* event
