Good sign your palm is maturing into "adulthood"
as they look for their own support to stabilize
them as they are in need of fortification from
the wind as they grow taller and wider...I think
in the warmer months its not a huge deal to cover
them but growing in colder zones it would make
sense to give them a blanky of mulch to keep their
toes warm.
