BIGLEAF HYDRANGEA is blooming in my garden. This type of Hydrangea, known botanically, as Hydrangea macrophylla, is often less hardy, than some other Hydrangea types, often dying back to the ground, in z6 winters. Since most bloom on "old wood", or stems, at least a year old, the re-growth of some would not bloom, if the plant die-back to the ground. However, this H. macrophylla cultivar is different.
