Thanks, Fred.
I love blackberries, too. The darker they are, the sweeter they are, as well. Half-ripened ones, with any red in them, are sour.
I hope I can get the little Josh, to live and grow.
I started my two Silk Floss trees from seed, well over a decade ago. If they weren't already touching the ceiling, when I bring them inside, each fall, I would bump them up to a bigger 16 or 20 inch pot. They have been in need of a bigger pot, for several years, but seem ok, albeit top-heavy. High winds will blow them over, if concrete blocks werent surrounding their bases. In years past, temps below 35 (NOT MUCH BELOW THIS, WILL KILL THEM), caused foliar damage, but they'd always leaf-out, afterward, in spring, when they go back outside. They are almost completely leafless, in winter, especially under lower indoor lighting, and cool temps (between 55 and 60 degrees).
The Fatsia fad more damage, this past winter. I guess, not from winter minimums (which was the same as the previous winter), but because of the 2 straight months of cold, with no mild breaks. However, it began making new leaves, almost immediately after being uncovered.
I think I have planted about 10 different varieties of dwarf apples, over the past few years, of different ripening colors.
