I don't know if the Coontie is flushing late. Cycads have been known to skip a year, or more, without flushing. I had a Sago skip a year before. I guess they can be unpredictable, sometimes (especially, if they retain all their fronds, throughout the year).
Yes, Hollyhocks are a traditional perennial plant. Like their Rose of Sharon relatives, they can reseed themselves, and become invasive. Fortunately though, Mars Magic hasn't reseeded its
elf, yet. Cleome can reseed itself, but not so much. as to become invasive.
The regular Tigers (Lilium tigrinum) have not bloomed yet, here. They are usuallyearly August bloomers. You know the black bulblets that form along tiger lily stems, can be planted, like seeds, and will grow into more plants?
That's a nice size on the blue Hydrangea. What is the cultivar of that one?
