Fred, I remember planting ground cherries (aka husk tomatoes), once as a teenager. The fruits were small, like a yellow cherry tomato, when ripe.
Tamarillos, sometimes confused with tomatillos (which look like green ground cherries), by name, do have a tomato taste, but a tad sweeter.
Are you referring to a "pomegranate", when you said you will be planting plum granny seeds, or the vining mini, cantaloupe relative?
Are dandelions blooming before the grass needs cutting? My lawn is a mix of bluegrass and fescue, which greens up earlier, and the need to mow, and dandelion blooms occur at the same time. You have Bermuda or Zoysia?
