While out in my yard, I noticed that my earliest flowering Camellia sasanqua, has flower buds that are juust beginning to show color. I expect the first ones to be open in about a week...
This flower is flamboyant, as the Argentinian leader, it was named after. The plant is called a HARDY GLOXINIA, Gloxinia nematanthoides. This plant is a gesneriad, related to African violets, and Streptocarpella.
If you know who the female leader is, you can name the cultivar of this plant...
