Anybody ever hear of Northern SPICE BUSH, Lindera benzoin? It is a great early spring bloomer. I have heard some say the blooms on their plants have a fragrance. My plant has little or no scent. Scent must be based on individual plant genetics. in any event, this shrub is blooming in my garden now..

So, this shows they are solidly hardy here, even though, being the biennials they are, they will die tis season, after flowering, going to seed.
