They were calling for 5 to 8 inches back in the valley and other areas north and west of Washington. But, we only ended up with about an inch back home. So, they missed the forecast on that one. I'm glad.
As far as distance to coastal Delaware, it takes about 4 hours to get there. The bad thing is you have to traverse the dreaded Washington DC/Baltimore metro areas to get there. All traffic from the west must cross the Bay Bridge near Annapolis to get over to the Eastern Shore. There is no other way to cross the Chesapeake unless you drive up to Wilmington Delaware and then down or drive all the way down to Norfolk and cross the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel in Virginia and then drive north. I can be in Virginia Beach in the same amount of time actually. Nags Head NC is about 5.5 hours and Myrtle Beach SC is about 7.5 hours.
