Yep, the Camellia has been in the ground for roughly 20 yrs. I don't remember the exact year, though. Both it, and my C. sasanqua Yuletide, have been in the ground for many years. When I planted my Yuletide, I didn't know THEN, that Camellias only flowered within a certain temp range. Since it normally blooms in LATE FALL, temps here, are too cold for it to flower. Over the years, it flowered JUST ONCE, and then, the flowers occurred in late winter (February, from what is normally, a December bloomer). My Yuletide stands about 4 and a half feet tall. all Camellia varieties do not grow to tree height. Many stay shrubby, ad/or grow slowly.
