Back in the spring, I got a 3-gallon Sabal brazoriensis from Steven in Alabama. Here it is, just before I put a cover over it, in mid-January!

In February 2023, I got this Oak Leaf/Red Holly from Perfect Plants, as a 1-gallon, on sale. Some of you may be familiar with this holly hybrid type.
This plant stayed outdoors, for the remaining portion of last winter. I did not even pot-plant it. There were quite a few freeing lows, afterward. Yet, the plant did not die, because of frozen roots in its pot. I put it in the ground, last summer. Here is how it is doing now...

I received this in an email from Plant Delights Nursery. Although their plants are often pricey, PDN often sell plant species that are hard to find at local nurseries (definitely not found at Lowes or Home Depot). Here the hardy "winter" elephant ear (an Arum), is being offered. Since these plants are dormant in spring and summer, they are generally not sold, at local nurseries...
