Had a wet snow here and it started early last evening and not sure what time it ended but the sun was out for a while this morning and we have been way above freezing for most of the day. Its melted a lot.
I don't think we will see a freezing low until Monday morning and we have had several 50* highs this winter so its really not been very bad. Had a low around mid-teens the beginning of December.
The low temp map you posted is scary and hope it doesn't happen again. You and Fred mentioned that -6 in 1966 over in Greenville and I'm fairly sure that during that same time there was an unofficial low near Oneida,Tn of 34* below. I remember my grandfather mentioning it. Oneida is due south of Sterns and Whitley City and SSW of Williamsburg with tons of switchbacks and mountains in between.
