This is a horrific tragedy. My heart goes out to the children, to all involved, who lost homes, lives, and loved ones in these floods. I'm still hoping they find survivors mong the missing and can bring them to help and healing.

I've been reading about directors trying to get people to safety, and losing their own lives in doing so. I imagine the counselors were trying to save the kids and eachother, too.


I feel for you. I know your connection to this place, to these camps and people makes it a hard burden to bear. So many children.


I've read about a family, Grandparents, parents and two girls, in 2 cabins and the girls and grandparents are missing after their cabin was swept away. The paents survived. A father is dead after he got his family safely out of their trailer as flood waters filled it. A woman survived after being swept 20 miles downriver.


Nature is powerful and deadly at times. All these people camping or living near the river never expected this. No one does.
