As I understand it seesthru if you've never had chicken pox then you don't need to worry about getting shingles but you do need to worry about getting chicken pox and so should get the vaccine for that. I believe that there is one available now. No, I didn't get an outbreak of shingles. I'm trying to keep that from happening. The new Shingrex shot doesn't contain any live cultures so there's no chance of contracting Shingles. The down side is that there are 2 doses necessary and the 2nd dose at the minimum can't be given until 2 months from today. The reason that I moved on getting it so quickly is I finally caught up to my doctor to ask about it and because a friend told me that her boss got an outbreak of shingles--in her eyes! My pharmacist said that that has happened to people. Gads. Cathy and Shiloh
