Re: I have never heard of a disease like Covid-19
They weren't kidding when they said it was a "novel" virus, new, and virtually nothing known about it. I wish our state would shut down again and make masks mandatory state wide. We had barely begun to see progress with the first shut down before they opened up again, and people foolishly decided that meant throw caution to the wind. Too many people out and about, most without masks, and no surprise we were a number one hot zone pretty soon. Then some local govt's like cities and a couple counties made masks mandatory, and more stores did, too. Our numbers are starting to come down a tiny bit again, but they're still way up there compared to some states and even some countries including those with a higher population than AZ. We are staying in as much as possible and always wearing masks when we do have to go out. Washing hands and wiping things down. When we get back from food shopping we just completely clean up before we sit down or anything. So far, so good. But we are both senior citizens so that makes us high risk, and we're not going to take chances. Other than going back to a rescue, we have no one who'd take over caring for our birds if something happened to us. We don't have kids, so they're our main concern, we have to be here for them.
