Also, I heard a whistling sound after Sunshine flapped hard in the cage yesterday (seems like from his nares which are completely clear) and I've never heard that before. He does make an audible clicking sound after exertion since we've had him (17 years!!) and he sees the vet at least once a year. But I also noticed once in a while in the past two weeks, moves his beak like he trying to get something out of it, not the typical yawn or beak attack on the cage, more like a talking motion without talking. Hard to explain. Sometimes its after he eats and sometimes not. He also dunked his head in his water dish, maybe he is dry in his nares and wants a bath. I will mist him when I'm sure he is ok.
I'm hoping its nothing, because I live in NY in Long Island and now is the not the time to visit the vet unnecessarily due to the circumstances. You can't go in with your pet and their staff is limited. And the last time he went to a vet, they stressed him out so much he had a stress seizure and had to put him in an oxygen tank. They did too many things to him and tired him out. He's been fine since and that was about a year ago. Just wanted to hear your thoughts.
Obviously, if I see any signs of labored breathing, he will be brought to the vet immediately. He is my baby and I will always protect him! He is happy and normal, singing, eating, bright eyed, yelling when we leave, playing, all that good stuff so fingers crossed!
