Here is their response. I knew they would defend it, how could they not? And you know what? I'm tired of worrying about it, and if I want my daggone Cheerios, I'm gonna have my daggone Cheerios! I'm TOO OLD to worry about it! LOL!
Here's their response, and below is a list of, believe it not, why GMO is actually GOOD for you! LOL!

Dear Valued Consumer,
Thank you for contacting General Mills about GMO ingredients.
We use GMO ingredients in some of our products. The broad global consensus among food and safety regulatory bodies that approved, genetically modified ingredients are safe, gives us the confidence to use them in our products that we share with our families and yours.
Additionally, the vast majority of our U.S. products contain ingredients grown in North America, which has widely adopted the use of biotechnology to improve agriculture. In fact, today as much as 70 percent of products on store shelves in the U.S. are grown from genetically modified seeds..
We know that some consumers prefer products without genetically modified ingredients and we’re proud to offer organic and non-GMO brands like Annie’s, Cascadian Farms, Muir Glen and LARABAR. – For more information about our position on GMOs, and a list of our products and information about whether or not they contain GMO ingredients, please go to: www.generalmills.com. It can be found by clicking on NEWS and then ISSUES.
Regarding your concern on glyphosate. We are sorry that these news stories have unnecessarily worried you. The FDA and the EPA are the authorities on this topic and we follow their regulations. Our products are safe and without question, meet regulatory safety levels. Government regulators have researched this issue and have set rules that we follow, as do the farmers who grow crops, including wheat and oats. We continue to work closely with farmers, our suppliers and conservation organizations to minimize the use of pesticides on the crops and ingredients we use in our foods.
According to the Grocery Manufacturer’s Association, based on the findings from the report, a person would have to consume over a hundred pounds of cereal a day, for the rest of their life to reach EPA’s limit for glyphosate residues.
We appreciate your interest, and hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any additional questions or comments, please let us know.
