This Board gave me a good deal of my Hardy Palm knowledge foundation. 10-15 years ago, I bet we had 30-40 regular contributors, and a good number of those folks were innovative and generous with their advice. I particularly recall 2 guys named Alex from the Atlanta area (one passed away a number of years ago). They shared great photos from their yards and Winter protection tips. A lady from Raleigh was pretty engaged, too.

I think some “snarkiness” subsequently crept into the postings, and a number of regulars got disenchanted with rude comments & decided to bail on the Board. Unfortunate.

The Southeastern Palm Society and its text on Hardy Palms have filled the void for many of us.

I’ve been a hardy palm hobbyist since 1992 and still benefit from SPS, Chilly Palm Trees (Sean McFall), Gary Hollar, Gayland Penny and a few others.

I still check this board from time to time.
