Hi Lucas, They can withstand brief periods of temperatures as low as 15* degrees F unprotected but I've seen reports in TN z8a / z7b and KY z7 with light protection.
I know this sounds like a drag to some people but I plant mine out in the spring and pot it back up in November and they grow faster in the ground vs potted for me. Root balls are much smaller than a palm.
