In the recent "vortex winters", we were awfully close. I think one of those winters our worst morning was 1F and the other winter, 2F.
True 7a temperatures (0F to 5F) happen here 1 out of every 3 winters. But, even in the winters where it occurs, we usually just get 1 to 3 nights of it, total. The really nutty thing is it can come in late February and early March! Single digits in March are a tough pill to swallow. I also wonder which is worse for marginals -- getting the worst cold early, mid, or late winter?
