The picture of the Manihot grahamii is in the front yard . I have one in the backyard that also started way high on the trunk too .
My Ensete started off the year with a fair amount of trunk too .
I know what you mean about them getting heavy and falling over . In the future I may trim up the leaves some to cut some weight off of the plant if I see a tropical storm heading here with winds . Constant easterly winds twice knocked it over in 2 distinct years in the fall in the last 5 or so years .
