You ought to try a Citrumelo . Mine survived 4F and 5F , the 2 lowest lows for a couple of past winters , and it would be easy to protect if it got colder than that .
I thought about protecting it up the trunk about 3-4 feet and then if the top got zapped by something like 0F , it could come back along the trunk that was protected . I would prune it as that new growth matured and it would be a nice tree within a couple years .
