Jay, that's a really long trunk! I have a Recurvifolia with about 3.5 to 4 feet of clear trunk (not counting the crown). I say that not to brag as I've seen a handful of similarly trunked Yuccas in my county. But yours looks much taller than that.
Jay, where are you on Gloriosa & Recurvifolia in terms of species? That is, I've heard some say that the latter is simply a subtype of the former and not really an independent species. I have to admit that they really do look very similar.
