The Palmetto I mentioned is a Sabal palmetto . It is called a Sabal palmetto " Tifton Hardy " because someone was in Tifton Georgia after they had a record cold night of something like 0F back in the 1980's . The man noticed that all the Palmettos were damaged except for one that was in perfect condition . He grabbed some seeds off that plant and started the seeds . When those plants matured he gave away or sold the seeds so that now there is a variety known as Tifton Hardy .
I'm hoping that that plant is super hardy like that one in Tifton Georgia .
