This is the Mission San Jose area..maybe the best area for tropicals as its a raised hilly area meaning, in winter frosts drain and in summer it seems to be 82f-85f every day as those hills also block the bay afternoon breeze.
As you can see from the very old palms,settlers figured out right away it's warm and nice here. About 25 minutes from my home. I can watch the temps rise as I get closer.
It's also an expensive are now..homes are bought for a million dollars,knocked down and new ones built and the owners if wanting,could sell that for a bigger profit. Few move!
The trunk on this old Eucalyptus was massive. I should have taken a closeup.
Always the difference between the bay area and soucal photos- a Redwood is always someplace in a set of photos!
