I was so shocked my first year gardening in Florida. It's too hot for so many plants (like geraniums, petunias, and cordyline australis) during the summer and my awesome oleander was killed in a week by a huge caterpillar infestation, and I have to be careful where I dig because of fire ants, snakes, and spiders.
It's so worth it, but gardening in Florida is not as easy as it looks!
