I may be in a similar situation, but for only 1 palm. And for me, I know something bad is coming that may kill my palm. Which is worse in some ways. We are supposed to get 4 deg F with 43 MPH wind gusts tomorrow. I've placed a vinyl grill cover over my outdoor S. minor that I've had for 2 yrs. The grill cover looks like a small fitted black tarp. I have about 30 rocks and bricks holding it down. I also have 4 stakes with 2 ropes crossing over the cover to help hold it down in the expected winds. I usu don't protect that palm unless it is below 10 deg F. Last winter during the 2018 bomb cyclone it was under plastic for about a month, My fear now is that the wind gusts will blow the cover off when I'm not around to place it back on.
Oddly, I'm almost sure that one of the spikes expanded some and grew a couple inches in length while it was under that plastic during the 2018 bomb cyclone.
I got the palm in SC and drove it 9 hrs back to my home. So I certainly don't want it to be killed by 4 deg winds.
