Yes Jeff , it was laziness on my part . I could've wrapped some incandescent Xmas lights around the trunks with a wrap of blankets and saved them . What made me go wrong was the two lows of 7F . I never protected those two palms unless I saw something below 7F ; so nine days of below 32F didn't worry me since the lows were only 7F .
( Note to self : Anytime a record cold duration issue is possible protect the plants that may need it . It was the coldest nine day period here in recorded history . )
It literally would've taken 30 minutes to protect those 2 trunks and save those palms . I keep learning all the time
