My double bloom Gardenias always bloom in May-June . I don't think I've ever seen that variety bloom into September . Some of the smaller varieties seem to have lots of flowers on them longer .
My Palmettos , Shaq and Curly didn't make it . I never saw a forecast for below 7F so I didn't protect them . That 9 day below 32F period was too much for them . It would've been so easy to protect the trunks too .
My Palmetto " Tipton Hardy " is doing well .
I'm going to buy another HC in May with a more northerly provenance from NC or SC . I've already found a source for them .
