Re: More on growing Mangoes in the San Francisco Bay Area.
It would be hard to say whats a Mango equal here in the bay area. For some reason I would equate the blue Pilocereus with Mango. For the masses though, that means -huh?
Whats a tropical staple here is far more hardier then a Mango.
Whats a surprise is how fast they can grow IF they get dawn to dusk sun. Mine get dawn to 4 or 5 pm sun..and miss out on direct sun the last three hours of summer. As mine get larger..the more sun they get. So,still hope they will kick it into high gear.
One is 10' and the other over 4' as one small yard becomes my all Mango orchard+ White Sapote.
