I've been growing a pomegranate bush from seeds that I sprouted from a store bought fruit back in 2013 or 2014. I didn't really have any long term plans for it and I left it to the full force of an Oklahoma City winter in its first year. It spent the whole winter sitting out in a pot and I was shocked when it sprouted new leaves in the spring. After that I took better care of it. I finally got it planted in the ground back at the beginning of July and it has already doubled, if not tripled, in size. I was outside today when I noticed it had produced its first bloom.
I was very happy to see a bloom after just a couple of months in the ground. Maybe next year I'll get lots of blooms.
