Hi Alfred Charest, sorry I have been away ,so I was unable to answer your question.

The Fabulous Films version of the DVDs is the only official version to have the original soundtrack. ( there are a few old fan versions out there , converted from the original airings). The USA version DO NOT have the original soundtrack.
If you take a look at this page you can read for yourself about the Fabulous Films discs, and see that this set also has a documentary.
You will need to be able to play region 2 discs to be able to watch, so you may have to buy a cheap mulit-region player, its worth the cost.

I was contemplating buying the series on DVD. My question before I do is, do you know if the original soundtrack is restored or is there legal issue w/ the music? I realized this may have already been answered here, but I’m watching the show now on TV. Thank you. On a side note, my Father was a career Marine who served in WW2 and Viet Nam. He to lived ‘til 92. This is the best TV show about VN I’ve ever seen.
